Breakfast Art: The Winning Name

Image
By landslide: VIKING HEAVEN "Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me. They bid me to take my place amongst them in the halls of Valhalla. Where the brave may live forever! " So there you have it, Andy. Thanks to everyone that voted. :) .

Smoke Through a Keyhole

Every once in a while, my old man says: “ we only come this way once .” This sentiment is something that I think we all know on an intellectual level, but it seems, no matter how we choose to live our lives, the notion that life is not a practice run and we only have one shot to actually live it ... well, that is something we each need to be reminded of in a deeper sense from time to time. Yesterday, a friend and I went to see The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman and Sean Hayes. In my opinion, it was not an epic film, nor is it a film that I expect to dramatically change how most people view the world… but it is a very good film… and in my opinion, a brilliantly played reminder we should all indulge in. I don’t do film reviews, so just trust me and go see it.

"They're ba-ack!" =) For those of you who don’t know what these decadent yummies are, click here . As for everyone else, you probably remember me blogging a while back about our house guest Andy H inventing this incredible breakfast dish. Well alas, as both the Buddha and George Harrison have taught us: "all things must pass " …and today, this includes Andy’s long awesome visit to Maui . However, as promised and always one to do things on a happy note, this morning, Andy made us these decadent, delicious, peanut buttery, vanilla-licious, banana-tastic, syrup-drowned masterpieces, one... last... time. BOOYAH!!! …but wait a sec… These incredible creations do not have a name. I mean, let’s face it, “Heart-smart Banana Pancakes with Peanut-Vanilla Frosting and Maple Syrup” is just too much of a mouthful. So , for fun, I told Andy H that I’d create a poll for you benevolent people of the interweb to vote on a more entertaining name for them. (top right) Here are

Go Water Your Polls

At the risk of getting flamed and/or making this blog more political than I'd ever care to, someone asked me something today... so, here I go. In terms of the current presidential race, just about everyone knows which colorful candidate for change I've been pulling for since go-time. In my most recent attack of cultural disappointment, I'm gonna go on record here, and all I'm gonna say is: If crocodile tears just helped this frikkin' lady become our next president... ... I'm moving back overseas!!!

Subconscious Shirt & Egyptian Flight

Over the past few months, I've been having some really weird vivid dreams from time to time. Some of you might remember me blogging to this effect once or twice a while back. Well, a A few nights ago, I had a humdinger. I wont go into a long detailed story about it, but at one point in the dream, someone was wearing this T-shirt. (click image to see it larger) Well, I liked the shirt so much, I went ahead and made it ... as implied by a picture of it even existing. :) I'll bet something remarkably similar to this take on the old " brain on drugs " line has prolly been done before by someone ...but everything's been done, dammit... so BFD on that. :P I made the T-shirt specifically for myself, but if anyone else wants one, I'm leaving it on sale for 20 bucks in my old Cafepress store . So, if you want one, just click here and have a blast. Unrelated topic: I'd like to send a shout-out to my Massachusetts homegirl, Karo-karo . I got an email from her this
